BEAUTY: Ceramic--Johnson Tsang

Ceramicist Johnson Tsang creates lovely, whimsical pieces that look like liquid, not ceramic! In fact, he was awarded Grand Prize at the 2012 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale for his humorous and unexpected piece Splash of Wonder seen below in the final four images.

The liquid in the piece above is actually stainless steel as Tsang wanted a material that would look even more like liquid!

Parfum de Dead Writers

Seattle's Sweet Tea Apothecary, owned and operated by J.T.Siems, has formulated Dead Writers Perfume, a unisex blend that “evokes the feeling of sitting in an old library chair paging through yellowed copies of Hemingway, Shakespeare, Fitzgerald, Poe, and more.” It sounds fascinating with a nice blend of top and bottom notes of heliotrope, vetiver, black tea, clove, tobacco, musk, and vanilla. More bottom than top, but the very sweet heliotrope and vanilla should balance nicely...

"Tidying Up Art"

Swiss comedian and cabaret/ performance artist Ursus Wehrli must have a serious case of OCD. He takes iconic works of art and imposes a strict sense of order to the elements present. Watch his TED Talk... it is pretty amusing.

He also imposes order on the world around himself.

I'll Say It Again

Still here...

So, here we all are...still.
The world did not end yesterday.

We should have been so lucky...

BEAUTY: Art--David Fullarton

The art of San Francisco resident David Fullarton looks like collage doodles or graffiti but upon closer inspection, it is easy to see that a lot of thought goes into what the piece is going to say and exactly how it will be said. There is a lot of humor and a lot of bald truth as well.
